Free Photo Overlay Editor for Dealers

Add SOLD banners, price tags, custom text, and dealership watermarks to vehicle photos. Runs entirely in your browser. Perfect for Facebook Marketplace, Instagram, and Craigslist listings.

Why Dealers Need a Photo Overlay Tool

Vehicle photos are the first thing buyers see, whether on your website, Facebook Marketplace, Instagram, Craigslist, or Cars.com. Adding professional overlays to your photos helps your listings stand out, communicates key information instantly, and builds your dealership's brand recognition.

Most dealers currently do this manually in Canva, Photoshop, or even PowerPoint. This tool does it in seconds, right in your browser, with no software to install and no design skills required.

Four Overlay Types

SOLD Banner

A bold diagonal banner across the image. Use this when a vehicle sells to update your social media posts and website photos. Showing sold vehicles builds social proof and tells buyers your lot moves inventory.

Price Tag

A corner badge showing the asking price. Facebook Marketplace allows price fields, but Instagram and Craigslist don't always display them prominently. A visible price overlay means buyers see the price in the photo itself.

Dealer Watermark

A semi-transparent overlay with your dealership name. Prevents other dealers from stealing your photos for their own listings (a common problem on Craigslist and Facebook). Also builds brand recognition when your photos are shared.

Custom Text

Any text you want: "JUST ARRIVED", "PRICE DROP", "CERTIFIED", "SPECIAL FINANCING", or your phone number. Full control over text, color, size, position, and opacity.

How It Works

Upload a photo: Drag and drop or click to select a vehicle photo from your phone or computer. The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP formats. Your photo is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to our servers.

Choose an overlay: Pick from four presets (SOLD, Price Tag, Watermark, Custom Text) or start from scratch. Each preset has optimized defaults for color, position, size, and opacity.

Customize: Change the text, color, position (diagonal, corners, or center), font size, and opacity using the control panel. See changes in real-time on the preview canvas.

Download: Click download to save the final image as a high-quality JPG. The output is the same resolution as your original photo, so there's no quality loss.

Best Practices for Dealer Vehicle Photos

Shoot in natural light. Early morning or late afternoon sun gives the best results. Avoid harsh midday shadows. Overcast days provide even, flattering light.

Use consistent angles. Shoot every vehicle from the same angles: front 3/4, rear 3/4, driver side, passenger side, interior dash, rear seats, engine bay, and trunk. Consistency across your inventory looks professional.

Clean the vehicle first. A quick wash and vacuum makes a dramatic difference in photos. Remove personal items, dealer plates on the dashboard, and any distracting clutter from the background.

Show the odometer. Including an odometer photo builds trust with online buyers. It's also required by many listing platforms.

Add price overlays to hero photos only. The first photo in your listing (the one that appears in search results) should have the price tag. Interior and detail shots don't need it.

Watermark everything. If you post on Craigslist or Facebook, other dealers will reuse your photos. A semi-transparent watermark with your dealership name prevents this without ruining the photo.

Update sold photos quickly. When a vehicle sells, add a SOLD banner to your social media posts within 24 hours. This shows activity on your lot and creates urgency for other shoppers.

Privacy and Security

This tool processes your photos entirely in your web browser using HTML Canvas. Your images are never uploaded to our servers, never stored anywhere, and never shared with anyone. When you close the page, the image data is gone. This makes the tool fast (no upload/download wait) and private (your inventory photos stay on your device).

Where to Use Your Overlaid Photos

Facebook Marketplace

The largest used car marketplace in the US. Price tags on the hero photo and SOLD banners on sold vehicles drive engagement.

Instagram

Post new arrivals with "JUST ARRIVED" overlays and sold vehicles with SOLD banners. Stories and Reels with overlaid photos get more engagement.

Your Website

Watermark all inventory photos to prevent competitors from stealing them. Sold vehicles can show SOLD banners before being removed from the site.
