SOLD Banners, Price Tags, and Watermarks for Car Photos (Free)

You take a photo of a vehicle on your lot. Now you need to add a price tag for Facebook Marketplace, or a SOLD banner for Instagram, or your dealership name as a watermark so other dealers don't steal your photos.

Most dealers open Canva, Photoshop, or PowerPoint. Upload the photo. Add a text box. Position it. Pick a color. Export. Repeat for every photo.

We built a free photo overlay tool that does this in seconds. Upload a photo, pick an overlay type, customize it, download. Your photos never leave your browser.

Four Overlay Types

SOLD Banner

A bold diagonal banner across the image. Red background, white text, impossible to miss. Use this the moment a vehicle sells to update your social media posts, website, and listing photos.

Showing sold vehicles matters. It tells lot shoppers that your inventory moves. It creates urgency. "If I don't act, someone else will buy it." A lot full of vehicles with no SOLD banners looks stale.

Price Tag

A corner badge showing the asking price. Pick the corner (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right), the color, and the size. Clean background with white text.

Facebook Marketplace has a price field, but it's small and easy to miss. An overlay puts the price directly on the photo, which is the first thing buyers scroll past. If the price isn't on the photo, many won't click.

Dealer Watermark

A semi-transparent overlay with your dealership name across the center of the image. Prevents other dealers from stealing your photos for their own listings.

Photo theft is rampant on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. A competitor screenshots your photos and posts them as their own. A watermark makes this impossible without obvious editing. It also builds brand recognition when your photos are shared.

Custom Text

Any text you want. "JUST ARRIVED" for new inventory. "PRICE DROP" for reductions. "CERTIFIED" for inspected vehicles. "SPECIAL FINANCING" for promotions. Full control over text, color, size, position, and opacity.

Your Photos Stay on Your Device

This tool runs entirely in your web browser using HTML Canvas. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. When you close the page, the image data is gone. This makes the tool:

  • Fast. No upload/download wait time. Processing happens instantly in your browser.
  • Private. Your inventory photos never leave your device.
  • Unlimited. No per-image charges, no batch limits, no daily caps.

Best Practices for Dealer Vehicle Photos

Shoot in natural light. Early morning or late afternoon. Avoid harsh midday shadows. Overcast days give even, flattering light.

Use consistent angles. Front 3/4, rear 3/4, driver side, passenger side, dash, rear seats, engine bay, trunk. Same angles on every vehicle looks professional.

Clean the vehicle first. A five-minute wash makes a massive difference in photos.

Add price overlays to hero photos only. The first photo in your listing (the one in search results) should have the price. Detail shots don't need it.

Watermark everything you post publicly. Facebook, Craigslist, Instagram. If it's public, watermark it.

Update sold photos within 24 hours. The faster you add SOLD banners, the more active your social media looks.

Why This Is Free

This tool runs in your browser. It doesn't cost us anything to provide. There are no API calls, no server processing, no storage. The code runs on your device.

Canva Pro costs $15/month. Photoshop is $22/month. Neither is necessary for adding a banner to a car photo.

Try the free photo overlay tool. Works on your phone from the lot.
